Founded in 2019 by Everett Program Fellows, the Gateways Project is a network of student projects centered around access to tech for incarcerated people, and supporting incarcerated voices.

Current Projects

Jail Classes

Currently, our Gateways Fellows are facilitating computer literacy classes at the Rountree Jail Facility in Watsonville,CA.

Topics range from basic computer skills to Adobe Photoshop editing.

 

Arc Creatives

In collaboration with the Anti-Recidivism Coalition based in Los Angeles, California, the Gateways Fellows and Executive Fellows are working on podcast editing via Adobe Audition and website redesign via WordPress. 

The Anti-Recidivism Coalition Creatives sector leads community based workshops focused on “healing through art.”

Our students work to expand digital media education initiatives fostering a path towards personal transformation, financial independence, and digital literacy.
